Local kidnapped by armed masked men in Stavropol Territory

Ruslan Izrailov, born in 1976, a resident of the settlement of Mirny, Stavropol Territory, was kidnapped today in the morning by unidentified masked men in the vicinity of Kislovodsk, said his wife.

According to her story, in the morning Izrailov drove out of home on business and never came back. She learnt about it from her acquaintances and neighbours, who were eyewitnesses of Izrailov's detention.

They told her that they saw her husband in handcuffs; his car was open; and "some woman made some actions with the car."

"In the evening, when I came home, a neighbour told me that our car was parked at the DPS (road-and-post service) in Mirny. There, an employee could not explain anything, saying that he had just arrived there," said Roza Izrailova.

According to his relatives, Izrailov had never been brought earlier to criminal or administrative responsibility; he had never been registered by interior bodies. His wife associates the kidnapping with the repressions against Islam believers in the district.
