Sri Lanka diplomat killed in Rostov Region; suspects detained

Tonight, in Rostov-on-Don, a member of the diplomatic mission from Sri Lanka was killed, his colleague was wounded, said a regional law enforcement source, adding that suspects have been detained.

A delegation from this South-Asian country arrived in Rostov-on-Don within the action "Days of Sri Lanka in Russia". According to operative data, a conflict burst out between the members of the diplomatic mission and drivers of the cars, in which they arrived.

As a result, one of the members of the delegation was killed, another one was wounded. "One of the drivers shot at the chest of a delegation member; he was hospitalized. A technical employee of the Embassy was crushed down by a car and died from his injuries," the RIA "Novosti" quoted the source.

The suspects of the crime are detained, the ITAR-TASS reports referring to a law enforcer.
