Organizers of "Extraordinary Congress of Dagestani Nations" promise to hold rallies if authorities fail to listen to their demands

Deputies of the "Extraordinary Congress of Dagestani Nations" have announced that they will have to organize protest actions if the authorities fail to listen to their demands specified in their resolution. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The resolution and the official documents of the Extraordinary Congress have been sent to Moscow to be handed to the Russian President and the State Duma. This was reported by the organizers of the Extraordinary Congress at the press conference held on June 4 in Makhachkala.

The Extraordinary Congress was organized and attended by Kazikhan Kurbanov, a member of the anti-corruption council of the Tabasaran District, Ruslan Rasulov, Deputy Chairman of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Union to Protect Rights and Freedoms of Nations, Humans, and Citizens", and Abulmuslim Shapiev, a member of the Lak National Council.

The Public Chamber has issued a special statement criticizing the Congress and its organizers. "The past gathering and dissemination of information about it represent a political provocation and irresponsible gamble of persons, who are very far from the aspirations of people of Dagestan," states the message posted on the website of the Dagestani Public Chamber. Ruslan Rasulov believes the Public Chamber has issued the statement under pressure from the authorities.

Participants of the press conference have called groundless the statement on illegitimacy of the Extraordinary Congress made by Denga Khalidov, Adviser to the leader of Dagestan. The participants have also noted that they invited various media and the press services of the authorities to attend the Congress. However, they have failed to come.
