Chechen combatants killed in Ukraine are buried in private, locals report
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by local resident that several combatants, who went to take part in the warfare in Ukraine and were killed there, were buried in Chechnya without publicity. According to locals, the wounded residents of Chechnya are still in hospitals in Donetsk.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported referring to locals that on May 28-29 from 35 to 45 natives of Chechnya, who were killed in the fights in the Donetsk Region of Ukraine, were brought to the Chechen Republic for burial.
Local residents assert that so far there is no exact data about the residents of Chechnya killed during the armed conflict in Ukraine. "Such information is usually not made public, as it was during the war with Georgia, where our power agents were also killed," a resident of Chechnya Viskhan S. told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Local residents believe that recruiting volunteers for participating in hostilities in the Donetsk Region is not a spontaneous process. "It's properly organized. A contract is signed with such a person under 350 US dollars per day of participation. Then, such recruits are brought to the Rostov Region, and then – across the border to the Donetsk Region," said a source from a Chechen NGO, who preferred to remain anonymous.
Let us note here that on May 28 the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov refuted the information about the presence of armed citizens of Chechnya in Eastern Ukraine.
