Relatives of Dagestani residents cannot locate him

In Dagestan, relatives of Muslim Ataev, 31, a resident of the township Tarki in Makhachkala, who disappeared today, have turned to the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) asking to help to find his whereabouts. The Makhachkala GOVD (City Interior Division) denies Ataev's detention.

Abdullah Umargadjiev, one of Ataev's relatives, suggests that he could be detained by the police, Aisha Selimkhanova, an activist of the DRPO "Pravozaschita", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The application submitted by Umargadjiev to rights defenders reads that today in the morning he learnt from an acquaintance from the Patrol-and Post Service (PPS) that his relative Muslim Ulubievich Ataev, born in 1983, was detained with his VAZ-21014 car near the "Caravan" Supermarket in Makhachkala in Akushinsky Street. At that moment Ataev was on his way to his workplace.

Everywhere, where relatives addressed, they were answered that the person with such data was not detained. Rights defenders have also failed to clarify the matter so far, said Selimkhanova.
