"Yeni Musavat" reporter attacked in Azerbaijan

On Friday, in Azerbaijan, an unidentified person attacked Faraim Ilgaroglu, a reporter of the oppositional newspaper "Yeni Musavat". It happened at the entrance of the house, where the journalist lives, in the Nizami District of Baku. Ilgaroglu himself says he does not know the reasons for the attack; policemen began investigating the incident.

According to Faraim Ilgaroglu, in the morning he went out and got into his car. When he was about to start the engine, some unknown guy of athletic build called his up from the doorway. He shook hands with the journalist, asked where he lives, and then suddenly started beating him up. As a result of the attack, Ilgaroglu has his nose smashed and a tooth broken.

Let us note here that earlier Ilgaroglu was exposed to physical pressure. Thus, the police used force against him while he covered the protest action on November 17, 2012, in Baku demanding the resignation of the Parliament.
