Life of policeman wounded in Dagestan is out of danger, MIA source reports

On Monday, a staff member of the Makhachkala police was wounded as a result of the attack committed by unidentified persons. His life is out of danger, and his state is estimated by doctors as of moderate severity. This was reported by an official from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan.

"In the city, law enforcers continue searching for the attackers. Presumably, the attempt on the policeman was committed by members of the terrorist grouping 'Makhachkala'," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a source from the Dagestani MIA.

According to the MIA, the attack on the police lieutenant was committed in Gamidov Avenue in Makhachkala. The policeman was wounded in his leg and began shooting at the attackers from his service weapon; however, the attackers managed to flee. This was reported by the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" with reference to the official from the press service of the Dagestani MIA.

The wounded policeman is a staff member of the road-and-patrol service.
