During the week from April 7 to April 13, at least six people suffered in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus; of them, three were killed and three others wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll includes one law enforcers and one civilian in Dagestan, and a suspect of involvement in the activities of the armed underground in Chechnya.

Attacks on law enforcers

On April 12, in the woods in the outskirt of the village of Shalazhi, Urus-Martan District of Chechnya, policemen detected a suspect of involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs). When they tried to detain him, the man opened fire and was killed by the fire response. He was identified as Khamid Andiev, a member of the armed underground.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On April 7, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced on the border of the Tabasaran and Derbent Districts of Dagestan. Operative agents were searching for members of the armed underground in the area of the Rubas River, where suspicious persons with firearms had been seen earlier.

On April 8, in the vicinity of the village of Gedzhukh, Derbent District, unidentified persons shelled fighters of the republic's OMON (riot police). As a result of an armed clash, three OMON agents were wounded. Later, one of them – Senior Police Lieutenant Mutaalim Davudov – died in hospital. According to a source from the local MIA, one of the alleged gunmen was also wounded.

Explosions and terror acts

On April 7, in the settlement of Semender, located in the outskirt of Makhachkala, an unidentified person threw a grenade onto the balcony of a private house belonging to Deputy Director of the State Institution "Ministry of Land Reclamation and Agricultural Water Supply of the Republic of Dagestan". The explosion caused no harm to people, but damaged the house windows and the balcony door.

Attacks on civilians

On April 10, in the village of Nechaevka, Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, unidentified criminals shot dead Magomed Zakaryaev, a madrassa teacher and the Imam of the local mosque. He was killed in his house. Investigators suggest that the Imam could be killed by IAF members because of his religious activities. Two militants from the "Kizilyurt" terrorist grouping are the main suspects of committing the murder.
