Resident of Dagestan complains to investigators about beatings in SIZO

Magomed Aliev, suspected of committing a robbery, who is kept in Makhachkala SIZO (pre-trial prison), sent an appeal to the Investigating Department (ID) for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), said his advocate Sapiyat Magomedova. In his complaint, the Dagestani resident asks the investigating authorities to punish those who bet him up at the SIZO.

Sapiyat Magomedova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the complaint to the above ID was sent on March 28.

Aliev has noted that he could identify everyone involved in beating him. He also asks for "a medical examination of his injuries, received during the beating."

According to the lawyer, no medical examination of Aliev has been made so far. She added that "traces of beating are seen on the body of my client with a naked eye."

Aliev is suspected of a robbery, committed by an organized group. According to investigators, at night on January 11, in the village of Akusha, Akushinsky District of Dagestan, Magomed Aliev and his two accomplices broke into the household of a 63-year-old woman, who delivered pensions to local residents. Under the threat of a firearm, the men tied up the woman and her husband and grandson, who were in the house, and then stole 1,600,000 roubles.

Magomed Aliev declares his innocence.
