Acting Governor of Volgograd Region should cancel Bozhenov's initiatives, experts say

Today, the Russian President has decreed to early terminate the powers of Sergey Bozhenov as Governor of the Volgograd Region. Andrei Bocharov has been appointed to be the acting head of the region.

The local experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe that starting a dialogue with local political elites and addressing social problems should be the Acting Governor's top priorities.

"Without support of local people, the new Governor will do nothing. While there is no dialogue with various population groups, including parties and elites, nothing good will happens. Without destructing the existing system of corruption and cronyism, any development of the region is impossible, no matter how much money they allocate," said Valery Kotelnikov, a co-chair of the Volgograd regional branch of the "RPR-Parnas" Party.

Residents of the region will approve Andrei Bocharov's actions, if he cancels a number of Bozhenov's initiatives, a political scientist Alexander Saigin, and a member of the Public Duma of the Tsentralny District of Volgograd, said in his turn. According to his story, Andrei Bocharov should also pay attention to social problems.
