Nagorno-Karabakh: two families from Syria receive keys to new flats

On March 25, the community of Ishkhanadzor, Kashatag District of Nagorno-Karabakh, awarded two Armenian families from Syria with the keys to their apartments.

The housing issue of the Armenian families from Syria is one of the priorities Suren Khachatryan, the head of the administration of the Kashatag District, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to his story, Armenians from Syria prefer the south of Kashatag, "as there are favourable conditions for farming."

Vagrich Grigoryan, who is in charge for construction works, has noted that the construction of two-storey house for 10 apartments in Ishkhanadzor will be completed in late May, while in Kovsakan apartments in a new house will be distributed already on March 29.

The house for the two above Syrian families who moved to live in the village almost a year ago, was built at the expense of the charitable fund "Tufenkyan" said Arsen Telunts, the community head in Ishkhanadzor. The other 10-apartment house for Armenian families from Syria is being built there by the fund "Kashatag" with the participation of "Tufenkyan".

We can add here that Ishkhanadzor has over 200 residents, mainly engaged in agriculture.
