Reasons of death of Shalva Tatukhashvili to be established, GPO of Georgia promises

Georgia's law enforcement bodies will establish the reasons of death Shalva Tatukhashvili, a witness in the case of Data Akhalaya, the former head of a department of the MIA, the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Georgia has reported. Giorgi Tatukhashvili, the casualty's father and the former commander of the country's Internal Troops, suspects that his son was killed.

Let us remind you that Shalva Tatukhashvili, who had once served as a commander of a special force regiment, and was later sentenced to three years and nine months in prison in absentia, died unexpectedly on March 24.

The lawyer Romeo Sadjaya has suggested that Tatukhashvili had committed suicide. However, the father believes that his son could not stand the psychological pressure, exerted on him during the investigation; and, finally, he had his heart stopped. On his Facebook page Giorgi has demanded an immediate his son's blood examination to find out whether Shalva had been injected some contraindicated medications.

According to Giorgi Tatukhashvili, Russian special services could be interested in his son's death, because in 2007 Shalva took part in the Kodori operation.

"He was in command of the special unit, which captivated several Abkhaz militaries and killed two Russian officers-trainers," said Giorgi. At the moment, he feared for the life of his other son Mikhail.
