Khasavyurt residents report house-by-house checks conducted by militaries

Policemen and attached servicemen are conducting checks of every Khasavyurt house, local residents report, while a source from the GOVD (City Interior Division) asserts that the visits have to do with the passport regime.

Checks are conducted in the north-western outskirt of Khasavyurt, in the township named Bammatyurtbek, a local told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on conditions of anonymity.

"They visit every household, checking passports and recording all the residents. Maybe, they search some of the houses. They asked me whether I had any weapons at home – hunting, traumatic and the like, but they didn't get in," said the source.

He added that over the past few days strengthened outfits of policemen and attached militaries appeared in Khasavyurt streets, "which was not the case for quite some time."
