Rally in Sochi Micro-District Makarenko held as meeting with assistants of State Duma MP (video)

A rally scheduled for March 2 of Makarenko Micro-District residents was held as a meeting with Igor Vasiliev and Yuri Dzaganiya, assistant of Sergey Obukhov, an MP of the Russian State Duma. It was attended by more than fifty activists, who represented ten apartment buildings of the micro-district and who signed complaints against the idleness of local authorities and inaction of the builders, who left the area in uninhabitable condition.

Earlier, residents of another Sochi micro-district – "Zarechny" – stated that the builders of Olympic facilities left broken roads and sidewalks behind them. They appointed a gathering for March 2, where they planned to discuss the situation.

Policemen tried to prevent the citizens' gathering.

"For two days before the event I was pressed with a demand not to hold any meetings," Gennady Bedrakov, the chairman of the local self-government (known as ROS) "Zarechny".

The local branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) and Sergey Obukhov, the State Duma MP from the CPRF intend to accept citizens' applications and complaints and then to direct parliamentary inquiries on behalf of Sergey Obukhov to those responsible, said Yuri Dzaganiya, an MP's assistant.
