Volgograd: left-wing radicals hold absurd-picket against Russia's policy in Ukraine (+video)
In the evening on March 13, in Sovietskaya Square of Volgograd, anarchists and activists of the "Left-Wing Front" held an absurd-picket, during which they unfolded provocative slogans of "support" Russian Govt's actions against Ukraine.
The picketers held posters reading "We demand to return Alaska back to Russia!", "For Motherland, for Putin, for oligarchs!" and "Russia needs no hospitals and roads; Russia needs wars and Olympiads!"
Boris Stikhin, the organizer of the action and the coordinator of the "International Union of Anarchists", was approached by a policeman, who began expressing his dissatisfaction with the texts of the posters. According to his version, when coordinating the action with the Mayoralty, Stikhin failed to present the texts. Another policeman drew a protocol on an administrative offense.
"The aim of our action is to show the absurdity of the rhetoric of the authorities, the absurdity of the political situation, in which we've found ourselves," Boris Stikhin told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to his story, such absurd-actions are effective as make people think.
Let us note here that on March 4, near the Lake of Tears at Mamaev Kurgan in Volgograd, a rally in support of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine, organized by the City Council of Veterans and supported by the authorities was held.
