Native of Samara living in Dagestan complains about pressure from power agents

Anastasia Dulevskaya, a native of Samara, living in Dagestan and detained by law enforcement bodies in Makhachkala in early January for 24 hours, reports that she is afraid of further persecution by power agents. The young woman turned to the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) with a complaint, which was then delivered to the Prosecutor's Office.

Anastasia is living in Makhachkala for 18 months; on January 1, 2014, she married a Dagestani Ibragim Butdaev. She had converted to Islam before marriage, Dulevskaya herself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She added that her harassment by power agents began on December 26, when she was for the first time invited for questioning by the Centre for Combating Extremism (CCE). An agent there asked her questions about how she came to Islam, and whom from among local Muslim women she knew.

On January 1 she got married. According to her story, the police did not like it; and in the evening of the same day two policemen were sent to search her home; and Dulevskaya was taken to the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division).

Anastasia has stressed that while in detention, during the whole day she received threats, including of execution; according to her story, the threatened to plant a shahid's belt on her. In her opinion, the pressure is caused by the fact that she had converted to the Salafi trend of Islam.

Ibragim Butdaev, the husband, has suggested that the persecution could be caused by family problems, as his family was against this marriage.
