Nagorno-Karabakh protesters demand objective investigation into contact line incidents

Today, more than 20 activists of the youth wing of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" Party held a rally in Stepanakert demanding to objectively investigate the incidents on the contact line of the Karabakh conflict.

At 7:30 a.m. young people gathered near the building of the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) hoping to meet Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, the personal envoy of the Chairman of the OSCE. They were going to give him a letter of appeal to international organizations, including the OSCE Minsk Group, demanding to objectively investigate the incidents that happened on the contact line and give them a proper assessment. However, Mr Kasprzyk never appeared, said the protesters.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that January 24 and 27, the Azerbaijani and Armenian parties exchanged accusations of violating the ceasefire. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) said that on January 31 and at night on February 1 the Armenian armed forces violated the ceasefire for 103 times. Two soldiers of the Nagorno-Karabakh Army were killed after January 20, said the press service of the MoD, adding that during the same period the Azerbaijani armed forces lost eight soldiers; and more than 20 people were wounded.
