Circassians from abroad arrive in Sochi for the Olympics opening ceremony

About 15 Circassian nationals living abroad have arrived in Sochi to participate in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

"In total, 26 Circassians from abroad will take part in the ceremony. More than half of them have already arrived in Sochi. Others are expected tomorrow, February 6. The guests are accommodated in the 'Radisson' Hotel and will stay in Sochi till the end of the Games," said Anatoly Kodzokov, the head of the Department for External Relations of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU).

According to his story, Circassians from Syria, UAE, Palestine, Israel, Turkey and Germany were invited to come. All of them are members of the Association of Foreign Alumni and Friends of the KBSU.

Mr Kodzokov has added that throughout the Winter Games in Sochi the "Adyg's House" will operate in the Olympic Park. "This is a vast pavilion in the heart of the city, where all the participants and guests of the Games will be able to familiarize themselves with the culture, traditions, historical heritage and modern life of Circassians (Adygs) in Russia and abroad," he said. "The idea of the 'Adyg's House' and its embodiment belong to the Administration of the Krasnodar Territory and the Sochi-2014 Organizing Committee."
