Visitors of gay clubs refute Anatoly Pakhomov's statements about absence of sexual minorities in Sochi

Sexual minorities have denied the statement made by Anatoly Pakhomov, Mayor of Sochi, who declared the absence of gays in the capital of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. One of the gay clubs is situated not far from the house, where Anatoly Pakhomov lives. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by regular visitors of the gay clubs.

"Every day, our club gathers representatives of sexual minorities not only of Sochi, but also of other Russian cities, including Moscow. Well-known actors also visit our club. And it is not a secret that there are gays in Sochi," the "Caucasian Knot" was told by Roman, the head of the Sochi gay club "Mayak".

According to Anatoly Pakhomov, no people belonging to sexual minorities live in Sochi. "We are simply saying that it is their business and their lives; however, this phenomenon (homosexuality, note of the "Caucasian Knot") is not customary in Caucasus. None of them live in our city," Anatoly Pakhomov has stated. The City Mayor has also noted that foreigners who will arrive in Sochi should not encounter any problems.

According to representatives of sexual minorities, they also gather in the Sochi cafe-club "Zerkala" located not far from Pervomaiskaya Street, Sochi Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov lives in one of the houses.

At the entrance to the gay clubs, face-control is always carried out, guards stand and check passports. Minors are not allowed to attend the parties in the gay clubs. At present, a person can enter the gay clubs only with VIP- invitations.
