In Sochi, residents of Vishnevy Lane complain about electricity cut-offs

In Sochi, residents of Vishnevy Lane claim that, starting from January 9, electricity supply is being cut off in their houses for 12 and more hours. The Spokesman of the company "Kubanenergo" has reported that the cable line in the area is damaged and that a diesel generator would be connected in the nearest future.

On January 21, the "Caucasian Knot" received an appeal from the residents of Vishnevy Lane. "Starting from 3:00 a.m., we have no electricity supply... Starting from January 9, our electricity supply is being cut off for 12 hours and more," the author of the appeal has noted.

"Our Lane consists of 150 private houses and four apartment buildings. We are not warned about the electricity cut offs. The hot line fails to provide any specific information when the electric power will be switched on and what has happened. The residents express their indignation about the situation," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Natalia Kornienko, a resident of Vishnevy Lane.

"In fact, there are problems in Vishnevy Lane: there are multiple cable breakings. The cable line is old. In winter, it faces increased load," said Olesya Mitsenko, the chief specialist of the Directorate for Media and Authorities of the company "Kubanenergo". According to her, in connection with the situation, power engineers have decided to connect a diesel power unit for the period of repairing.
