In Dagestan on Thursday, the legal regime of counterterrorist operation (CTO) in the 20-kilometre band on the administrative border with the Stavropol Territory and in the Tarum District, the republic's operative headquarters has reported.

In the Tarum District, a CTO is conducted in the responsibility zone of the police checkpoint named "Artesian".

"The CTO regime was introduced because of the operative-search and preventive measures taken with the aim to reveal members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) and their helpers," the "Interfax" quotes its source from the above headquarters.
