Volgograd: policeman kills a pedestrian in traffic accident

In the Tsentralny District of Volgograd, a policeman knocked down a pedestrian with his car; the victim later died in hospital, reports the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Volgograd Region.

According to the MIA, the accident happened on January 5.

A police captain, while during his service time, was driving his private car and hit a pensioner who was crossing the roadway in a wrong place. As a result, a 59-year-old man with a diagnosis of basal skull fracture was taken to hospital, where he died from his traumas, says the website of the Volgograd Regional MIA.

The press service of the MIA has noted that a service check was appointed and, if found guilty, the policeman will be dismissed from his law enforcement body.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 16, 2012, in the Volgograd Region, a senior lieutenant of justice knocked down two children and their mother in a traffic accident. One child died at the scene; the second one and the mother were hospitalized. According to investigators, the law enforcer was drunk.
