Olga Shvedova reports workers start to eliminate sewage leak in area of Olympic hospitality in Sochi

A group of workers from the Municipal Unitary Enterprise (MUP) "Vodostok" has started to eliminate the causes of the accident at the sewage system, of which consequences the residents complained more than three months. This was reported by Olga Shvedova, a member of the House Committee of No. 36 in Chebrikov Street.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Chebrikov Street complained about the inaction of the authorities and public services, which for more than three months failed to take proper measures to eliminate the accident at the sewage and water-supply pipes. According to residents, water from the sewage and heating systems flowed out of the retaining wall of the house No. 36 located in Chebrikov Street and diffused offensive odours, though the whole neighbourhood got into the area of Olympic hospitality.

"We were very surprised when during the holidays, early in the morning of January 4, a brigade of the MUP 'Vodostok' arrived and started the repair works. They worked from early morning till midnight. The workers told us that they would also come on January 5, since the cause of the accident was very serious and they failed to fix it during one day," Olga Shvedova has said.

Some residents believe that the visit of Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev played its role in the elimination of the accident, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
