Balakhany villagers report about searches

Residents of the village of Balakhany, Untsukul District of Dagestan, report about the searches conducted in their village. The Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division) says that they know nothing about the ongoing activities in the village.

Magomed R., a villager, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that power agents began conducting searches in Balakhany on Saturday morning.

"There was information that they searched only relatives of those who are on the wanted list; of those who hide in forests. But as it turned out that also the villagers who have no connections with the forest were also searched. Nobody was detained; and they found nothing in the houses," said the source. According to his story, such searches are held regularly in the village.

He added that no more than three villagers are in hiding and put on the wanted list as militants.

A woman from Balakhany told that her relative's house was searched – her son is on the run for more than three years. Power agents questioned the detainees, and then set all of them free.
