Sochi: four persons picket in support of Evgeny Vitishko

Today, four activists, by changing each other, held solo pickets in support of ecologist Evgeny Vitishko.

Let us remind you that actions in support of the Krasnodar activist-ecologist Evgeny Vitishko, convicted on charges in the case of "Governor Tkachov's dacha", were planned today also in Voronezh, Moscow, Sochi and Chelyabinsk.

The today's Sochi action, which was held near the "Olympic Clock", was organized by Yulia Naberezhnaya and Mikhail Plotnikov, members of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus", David Khakim, the head of the office of the unregistered Party "People's Alliance" for the Krasnodar Territory, and Vladimir Kimaev, the leader of the local branch of the "Yabloko" Party.

The poster, which the picketers passed over to each other, read: "Freedom to Evgeny Vitishko!" and bore the five Olympic Rings decorated with barbed wire.

"We wanted to stand there as long as we could. Our main aim is to support Vitishko. But an hour after we started the action, the police began pulling together. Therefore, we decided to roll down the poster and leave, in order to avoid provocations and incidents," Mikhail Plotnikov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
