In Sochi, case against policeman, who beat Pavel Solovyov, builder of Olympic venues, brought to court

In Sochi, the trial in the case against a policeman from the Adler OVD (Interior Division), who is accused of abuse of power in connection with beating of builder Pavel Solovyov, has been scheduled for December 19. Victim Pavel Solovyov has arrived from Novosibirsk to Sochi to participate in the trial and give his testimony in the case, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Let us remind you that on April 3, Pavel Solovyov was brought in serious condition to the Khosta Hospital No. 3 of Sochi. He underwent several surgeries. He claims that he was beaten by policemen. A month after the incident, Alexander Enin, the victim's advocate, has reported that the criminal proceedings have not been initiated.

"After the injuries, I became incapable of work. It took eight months to recognize me as a victim. That happened in November. Despite the fact that I was beaten by two policemen, only one of them is being brought to responsibility," Pavel Solovyov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to Alexander Enin, the victim's advocate, from the very beginning, the investigation was conducted with gross violations of the law. Therefore, the victim's defence will make a lot of adjustments at the trial.

It should be noted that earlier, the policeman, accused by the builder of beating, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he regretted the incident, but doubted that had caused bodily harm to the victim.
