Makhachkala: journalist Gasan Gadjiev is detained

In Makhachkala, Gasan Gadjiev, a local resident, has been detained. About a month ago, he started to cooperate with the "Caucasian Knot" as a correspondent. Prior to Gasan Gadjiev was brought to the Centre for Combating Extremism (CCE) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan, his apartment was searched. This was reported by Zainab, the Gasan Gadjiev's wife.

"At about 6:00 a.m., our apartment was searched, and after that my husband was brought by policemen to the sixth division. During the search of the apartment, law enforcers seized the Gasan Gadjiev's personal belongings, a block of his PC, a flash card, a video camera, training lists on the workshop to train video filming, and two religious books 'System of Islam' and 'Fundamentals of Islamic Nafs', which did not belong to us and which we borrowed for reading shortly prior to the search," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the wife of the detainee.

It should be noted that the book "System of Islam" written by Taqiuddin an-Nabohoni is included in the federal list of extremist materials.

Gasan Gadjiev was the author of materials about the rally in support of advocate Musaev in Makhachkala, mass detention of mosque-goers in the village of Vremenny of the Untsukul District, the inspection at the children's club "Amanat", and the press-conference on the incident at the mosque in Leninkent.
