In Adygea, opening of exhibition "Magic of Patterns" was attended by about 70 persons

On December 6, the exhibition "Magic of Patterns" was opened in Maikop. On the opening day, it was attended by about 70 persons. The exhibition is organized to provide viewers with the chance to compare Asian items with North-Caucasian ones. This was stated by Elena Eremeeva, a staff member of the regional branch of the Museum of East.

The exhibition "Magic of Patterns" will be held in the North-Caucasian branch of the State Museum of East in Maikop, starting from December 6. For the first time, Adygea will exhibit more than 120 items of ornamental and decorative art of the peoples of South-East Asia.

"Visitors drew particular attention to bright painted fabrics and puppets from shadow theatre. When delivering their speeches at the opening of the exhibition, workers of culture have stated that we should conduct such exhibitions more often to better understand our ornamental art," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Elena Eremeeva, a staff member of the North-Caucasian branch of the Museum of East.

According to her, the exhibition is located in the lobby of the museum, and viewers have the opportunity to compare items from South-East Asia with samples of ornamental and decorative art of the North-Caucasian peoples, represented in the permanent exhibition of the Museum.

"In our Museum, visitors can see gold embroideries, carpets, felts, mats, folk costumes, and wooden ware from different Caucasian republics. It is remarkable that some ornaments and stories from Indonesia resonate with the items from Adygea and the decorations and patterns represent amulets and magical protection in exactly the same way," Elena Eremeeva has emphasized.
