Adyrkhaeva: North Ossetia needs ballet school

North Ossetia needs a ballet school to develop the dance culture. This was stated by Svetlana Adyrkhaeva, a native of the republic, a ballet-master and a coach from the Bolshoi Theatre. Alexander Totoonov, a member of the Federation Council, states that the issue of opening such an institution will be raised at the federal level.

On December 3, in Vladikavkaz, the Opera and Ballet Theatre held a gala concert in honour of the anniversary of Svetlana Adyrkhaeva, a People's Artist of the USSR, a member of the Arts Council of the Ballet Company and a ballet-master from the Bolshoi Theatre. Svetlana Adyrkhaeva arrived in North Ossetia with her students, who performed abstracts from ballets on theatre stage.

According to the ballet-master, North Ossetia needs a ballet school, since dancing, even ethnic ones, needs professional training.

When answering to the question whether at present, there are natives of North Ossetia, who could occupy a well-deserved place in the world of ballet, she mentioned artist David Zaleev.

Anna Antonicheva and Ekaterina Krysanova, Svetlana Adyrkhaeva's students, were awarded the titles of People's Artists of North Ossetia, and the other students, who came to the concert, were awarded the titles of Distinguished Artists of North Ossetia. Svetlana Adyrkhaeva was also awarded the Order of Honour of South Ossetia for her great personal contribution to the development of dance art.
