Sochi resident complains of rejected medical examination and help

Irina Nilisavlevich, 54, a resident of Sochi, has filed a complaint against physicians of City Hospital No. 4. She complains about unlawful refusal to provide her medical care after the road traffic accident. The complaint was directed to the administration of the city hospital and the health service department of the Sochi administration.

According to Irina Nilisavlevich, on November 24, she was knocked down by a VAZ car that suddenly drove to the pavement. The driver left the place without helping her.

In the emergency station, physicians stitched her chin. Irina Nilisavlevich claims that they failed to treat the wounds on her right hand and on her feet, which were bleeding profusely.

At night, she felt bad and repeatedly called an ambulance. The woman has explained that at the hospital, she signed a document presented to her by a staff member of the hospital without any explanations. Later, she learned that she had signed "refusal of hospitalization and warning about possible consequences" and that she "should pay for the medical examination of her jaw and for medical treatment, since she came not being sent by an investigator."

Irina Nilisavlevich has explained that she has a health insurance policy and, therefore, has the right to receive free medical services.

"If in our city, our physicians cannot cope with my injury, then what about millions of visitors who will come to visit our city for the Olympic Games?" the woman who was injured in the road traffic accident has added.

Officials from the secretariat of the hospital and from the reception of the health service department of the Sochi administration told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the woman is to obtain the response to her complaint during one month.
