Dagestani MIA suspects Children's Club "Amanat" of illegal educational activities

As reported by the press service of the MIA of Dagestan, the Makhachkala-based Children's Club "Amanat" belongs to the Salafi community and is engaged in educational activities, for which it has no right. In its turn, the club administration argues that the policemen themselves violated the law by not allowing children to attend school art classes, which are not subject to licensing.

On Wednesday morning, employees of the Sovietsky ROVD (District Interior Division) attempted to conduct special operations in the "Amanat", located in Lomonosov Street. The club administrator refused to let policemen in, because they failed to present any documents justifying their actions. However, the classes were disrupted. This is the policemen's fourth visit to the club. According to employees of the "Amanat", the checks were initiated by the Centre for Combating Extremism of the Dagestani MIA and are intended to close the club.

Intizar Mamutaeva, the authorized person of the President of the Republic of Dagestan on Children's Rights, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she intends to visit all the children's institutions, which have no licenses, including the "Amanat".

The Children's Club "Amanat" was opened in October 2013; it is engaged in works in circles on several topics, said Zarema Alieva, the club administrator.

Arsen Magomedov, who is providing legal services to the club, the actions of the policemen, who prevented today the children's access into the club, are illegal and violate both the children's rights and the interests of the individual entrepreneur, who owns the club.
