IAF members were involved in killing policeman in Khasavyurt, investigators assert

The Dagestani investigating authorities are studying the murder of an operative agent of the Khasavyurt GOVD (City Interior Division), committed at night on November 25 in a city suburb. The murder had to do with the policeman's professional duties, investigators believe.

Let us remind you that in Khasavyurt, on November 25 at about two o'clock at night, unidentified persons shelled the car of the 26-year-old Police Lieutenant Ruslan Oshitov, killing him on the spot. His friend, who was with him in the car, was wounded and hospitalized in grave condition.

"The police officer and his friend were sitting in the car parked near Ruslan Oshitov's house. The attackers, who supposedly moved in a Lada Priora car, opened fire from a submachine gun and then fled. They are not established yet. According to investigators, the murder was connected with the policeman's professional duties. Most likely, it was committed by members of illegal armed formations (IAFs)," said Rasul Temirbekov, Senior Assistant for Public Relations of the Head of Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the hospital of Khasavyurt that the man wounded during the attack was still in grave condition.
