G8 summit in Sochi to consider migration problem
The G8 summit scheduled to be held in summer in Sochi will consider the problem of migration as one of the main agenda items. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, while he was in Italy and met Romano Prodi, ex-Prime Minister of Italy and current special envoy of the UN Secretary General.
The G8 summit will be held in Sochi on June 4-5, 2014, and the city administration plans to use a number of the facilities constructed for the 2014 Olympic Games.
Vladimir Putin asked Romano Prodi to help in preparing the report and solutions on the problem of migration. "At present, we are preparing for a G8 summit, and one of the main problems we face is the very important problem related to migration and the problems that arise because of it," said the President of the Russian Federation.
Vladimir Putin has expressed the opinion that the problem "is acute for Russia, Europe, and, in particular, for Italy," the "Interfax" reports.
