Advocate of detained resident of Kizlyar complains about non-admission to his client
Selim Magomedov, a lawyer from the Dagestani Bar Association, who is defending the interests of Rizvan Magomedov, a resident of Kizlyar, 21, who was detained on November 20 in Kizlyar on suspicion of drug possession, declares that he is not allowed to meet his client, who was brought to the GOVD (City Interior Divisions).
"I know that Magomedov was questioned in the absence of a legal advocate; there are also concerns about the use of torture; otherwise, why should they hide him? For the second day already they use various reasons at the Kizlyar temporary detention facility (known as IVS) not to let me to my client. On November 22, they told me that they were holding some training exercises at the IVS. On November 23, they claimed that they had electricity outage. I'm sure it's just an excuse," Selim Magomedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
On November 22, Rizvan Magomedov was arrested for two months as a suspect of illegal possessing a large amount of drugs (Part 2, Article 228 of the Russian Criminal Code).
"He was also questioned under Article 208 (participation in illegal armed formation (IAF)), but officially this article was not imputed to him," said the lawyer. He said that he had addressed in writing to the Public Prosecutor of Kizlyar asking to help to get an unimpeded access to his client.
