Relatives of soldiers, killed on training range in Dagestan, reject investigators' version

Residents of Chelyabinsk demand to investigate the death of two regular soldiers, who died at the training range "Dalny" in Dagestan. In their letter addressed to Mikhail Yurevich, Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, the residents of Chelyabinsk claim that investigators and officials from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) conceal the true cause of the soldiers' death.

On October 17, 2013, soldiers Rodion Stetsenko and Alexei Gorzu died during the lessons for driving military vehicles at the training range in Dagestan. According to the Chief Military Investigating Department, the soldiers died from injuries got as a result of collision of military tracked vehicles.

Relatives of the soldiers do not believe the version of the investigators. According to relatives of soldier Alexei Gorzu, the Alexei's body "has no signs of collision of armoured vehicles, but the arms are covered with bruises, as if after a fight, and the soldier's neck has a trace similar to a sign of strangulation."

The local residents have written an appeal to the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region. In their appeal, they demand to carry out independent medical re-examination, to investigate the death of the soldier, and meanwhile to suspend taking Chelyabinsk young people to the army.

The letter was posted on the website of appeals change.org, and it has already collected more than 200 signatures.
