Man who blew himself up on Russian border was a KBR resident, says Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office

The alleged infringer of the border with Russia, who committed suicide bombing and wounded two border guards, was a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), said the Prosecutor's Office of the Sumy Region of Ukraine.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on October 4 a man, who was detained for infringing the Russian-Ukrainian border, blew up himself and two border guards during an identity check at the checkpoint "Bachevsk" in the Sumy Region. The man died in the incident, wounding two border guards, who were hospitalized in grave condition to the GlukhovDistrictHospital, where they were operated on.

The casualty was born in 1982 and registered in the city of Chegem. "There were four residents of Moldova and one Russian in the car; the latter was the above KBR resident; and he triggered his bomb," the ITAR-TASS quotes the message of the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Sumy Region.

The Ukrainian Security Service now checks the alleged border infringer for his possible involvement in terrorist activities.
