In Sochi, Mardiros Demerchyan and his advocate deny denunciation charge

The accusation that builder Mardiros Demerchyan has made a false denunciation of staff members of the police station of Blinovo, a district of Sochi, who allegedly beat him, is not true. This was stated by the defendant and his advocate.

Mardiros Demerchyan himself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the charge against him was filed on October 2. The builder continues to insist that he told the truth about torture. He has added that he had "no reason to give false testimony against the policemen." Besides, according to the Mardiros Demerchyan's statement, on July 26, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) disseminated the information that, in his opinion, does not reflect reality.

In particular, the ICRF's report stated that officials from the ICRF conducted forensic examination and the check against the policemen at the Mardiros Demerchyan's request.

Alexander Boichenko, an advocate of Mardiros Demerchyan, claims that he knows nothing about the conducted forensic examination.

"Neither Mardiros Demerchyan as a victim nor I as his advocate know anything about the examination mentioned on the ICRF's website. Moreover, we have not even seen the resolution on the appointment of the examination," the advocate told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
