Advocate Sapiyat Magomedova claims investigator loses complaint about torture used against Dagestani resident

Investigator from the Khasavyurt Inter-District Investigating Division has lost a complaint reporting on torture against Shamil Salatgereev, a resident of Dagestan. This was reported by advocate Sapiyat Magomedova.

Let us remind you that, according to the Sapiyat Magomedova's information, on September 18, Shamil Salatgereev, a resident of the village of Kalininaul of the Kazbek District of Dagestan, detained on suspicion of theft, was tortured by policemen and then tried to commit suicide.

On September 24, Sapiyat Magomedova filed a complaint to the investigating authorities to institute criminal proceedings against staff members of the police department of the MIA for the Kazbek District of Dagestan.

"On September 26, I called the investigator, and I learned that he had lost the complaint about the committed crime. The investigator started to demand that I should come to the Investigating Committee of Khasavyurt and re-file the complaint. After I refused to re-file the complaint, the investigator started to conflict with me on the phone," the advocate stated.

Advocate Sapiyat Magomedova believes that the policemen try to hide the fact of the crime. On September 26, she filed a complaint to the Prosecutor of Dagestan against the actions of the investigator from the Khasavyurt Inter-District Investigating Division.
