Lawyer Tatiana Okushko appeals against refusal to open a criminal case on the death of the convict for blowing up "Neva-Express" Train

Tatiana Okushko, the advocate for the relatives of Tarkhan Kartoev, who died in the corrective colony in Yekaterinburg, has filed an appeal against the decision of the Investigating Department (ID) for Yekaterinburg of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) not to open a criminal investigation into the violent death of the convict.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 30 Tarkhan Kartoev's father received a cable from Colony No. 2 of Yekaterinburg saying that his son had died on June 29.

According to the Sverdlovsk Regional Department of the Russian Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN), the convict died of an acute cardiovascular failure. When relatives received his body, they found numerous bruises and wounds. The lawyer Tatiana Okushko filed a statement to the above ID of the ICRF on the violent death of Tarkhan Kartoev; however, the ID refused to institute criminal proceedings.

On September 3, Tatiana Okushko sent an application to the Kirov District Court of Yekaterinburg against the decision of the ID of the ICRF.

She told that on August 24 she received Tarkhan Kartoev's death certificate, which was compiled immediately after his death, which, among other things, stated that the prisoner had his nine ribs broken.
