Father of Chechen native murdered in Moscow asks investigators to recognize him as victim

An advocate of one of the relatives of natives of Northern Caucasus killed in Moscow appealed to the investigating authorities to recognize Umar Merzhoev, the father of Ramzan Merzhoev, as a victim in the case. Till present, the investigation has not commented on the investigation into the crime.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the bodies of three young men were found on August 9 in an apartment building in Moscow. The number of the murdered persons includes Khusein Germikhanov, a resident of the Chechen village of Katyr-Yurt, Ramzan Merzhoev, a native of Achkhoi-Martan, and Elkhan Abazov from Dagestan. According to the investigators' information, the men rented an apartment. The owner of the rented apartment and his friend are suspected of the murder and they have already been detained by the police.

On August 26, Zaurbek Sadakhanov, an advocate of the Interregional Advocates' Chamber of Moscow, officially joined the case as the advocate of the victim Umar Merzhoev, the father of murdered Ramzan Merzhoev. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The advocate has emphasized that the relatives of Ramzan Merzhoev intend to seek just punishment for the murderers of his son.

"The victims have appealed to Kheda Saratova, the leader of the NIAA 'Objective', a member of the Expert Council of the Ombudsman in the Russian Federation, who, from present, actively supports the victim families. The case is under control of Nurdi Nukhazhiev, Ombudsman in the Chechen Republic. Every day, they ask about the progress of the investigation into the case," Zaurbek Sadakhanov has said.
