In Dubovka, Volgograd Region, supporters of Mayor hold rally to protest against his withdrawal from election campaign

On August 19, the central square of the town of city of Dubovka of the Volgograd Region hosted a rally "For Fair Election" in support of Mayor Alexander Lyashenko, who was thrown away from the race for the position of the head of the Dubovka District.

The rally was organized by the Dubovka Branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF). The rally was also attended by representatives of the Liberal-Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) and the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (Fair Russia) Party.

"On August 9, the Dubovka District Court dismissed the candidacy of Alexander Lyashenko for the position of the head of the Dubovka District. Vladimir Klochkov, the head of the Dubovka District, has filed a claim to cancel the registration of the candidate. According to Vladimir Klochkov's opinion, Alexander Lyashenko failed to submit a document about the absence of cash accounts abroad. The paper disappeared from the documents. Meanwhile, the Territorial Election Commission (TEC) of the Dubovka District has issued a document to Alexander Lyashenko certifying that the candidate had submitted the documents in full volume," Vladimir Parfyonov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The election will be held in the Dubovka District on September 8.

Vladimir Klochkov and Alexander Lyashenko are the main competitors for the position of the head of the Dubovka District, and the District already faces a harsh political struggle, the "Volgogradskaya Pravda" reports.
