Colonel Omarov: so far, no suspects in Akhmednabiev's murder case

August 9 is a month since the murder of Akhmednabi Akhmednabiev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. During the period, investigators failed to reveal the number of attackers and some of the circumstances of the murder. This was reported by Muslim Omarov, the leader of the investigating team. Let us remind you that in the morning of July 9, in the village of Semender of the Kirov District of Makhachkala, Akhmednabi Akhmednabiev, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, the deputy editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper "Novoe Vremya" (New Time), was shot dead by unidentified persons.

"We carry out all investigative measures provided by the law. However, there are no great changes yet. There are also no particular suspects in the case," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Muslim Omarov, the leader of the investigating team, Colonel of Justice of the Investigating Division of the Kirov District of Makhachkala.

According to the version of the leader of the investigating team, there are witnesses, who could give valuable testimonies; however, they are afraid to speak.

"As far as I know, family member of Akhmednabi Akhmednabiev carry out their own investigation. And witnesses tell them more than they tell us. If we could persuade them to give formal testimonies, they would be very helpful in solving the crime," the Colonel of Justice has emphasized.
