Vladikavkaz to host action against "Electrozink" Factory

On August 3, Vladikavkaz will host a picket against the activities of the metallurgical factory of Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Electrozink". This was reported by German Revazov, a representative of the movement "Stop 'Electrozink'" and the ecological organization "Novoe Vremya" (New Time).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Vladikavkaz, ecological activists regularly hold protest action against the "Electrozink". The recent picket was held on July 6, and it was attended by about 20 persons.

The next rally will be held in Victory Square at 1:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m. At the picket, the activists are going to raise the issue of reducing the sanitary protection zone of the factory and to demand to close the factory because of inconsistency in the implementation of environmental commitments. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by German Revazov.

Let us remind you that, according to participants of the protest action, the factory administration and the local authorities fail to take effective measures to solve environmental problems in the capital of North Ossetia. In turn, the factory administration argues that the factory implements the programme of measures to reduce dangerous emissions.
