Imam of Nasyr-Kort Mosque reports provocation being prepared against him

Khamzat Chumakov, the Imam of the Nasyr-Kort Mosque in Ingushetia, has reported about a provocation prepared against him. He has already sent respective applications to Pyotr Belyakov, the Public Prosecutor of Ingushetia, and Alexander Trofimov, the head of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

Let us remind you that the evening on July 24 Akroman Evkurov, one of the supporters of Khamzat Chumakov, was detained in Ingushetia. On July 26, the MIA of Ingushetia announced receiving a message about a bomb that had been planted in the mosque. It was cordoned off; however, no bomb was found.

Khamzat Chumakov states in his applications that a provocation is being prepared by law enforcement bodies. According to his version, he had received information from his sources from the MIA that he may be detained on suspicion of illegal possession of firearms or remaking or manufacturing them.

"I hereby report that if law enforcers will – in view of the above circumstances – 'find' or 'detect' any illegal weapons or other prohibited items on me or my relatives, it will mean that the items had been planted by the law enforcers themselves," Mr Chumakov writes.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the republic's MIA could not confirm the receipt of Chumakov's application.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Khamzat Chumakov survived an attempt on him committed on September 14, 2010, when a homemade bomb exploded under his car in the city of Nazran – then, the Imam had his leg amputated.
