Advocate claims violations in case on conflict of builder Sergey Krbaschyan with Sochi police

The case of disobeying the police, on the basis of which builder Sergey Krbaschyan was fined by 1000 roubles, contains numerous violations. In particular, the detention protocol indicated that Sergey Krbaschyan was not placed to detainees' room. However, Sergey Krbaschyan and Mardiros Demerchyan, builders from Abkhazia, who were detained on the same day and brought to the police station "Blinovo", claimed that they spent the whole night at the police station and that they had been subjected to torture. This was noted by advocate Alexander Boichenko.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on June 13, at the police station of the village of Blinovo in the Adler District of Sochi, 38-year-old Mardiros Demerchyan and 25-year-old Sergey Krbaschyan were beaten. This was reported by Lyudmila Demerchyan, the wife of one of the builders.

"On June 12, during the operational and search activities aimed to solve the crimes committed in the service area and related to theft of other people's property at Olympic venues under construction... the police lieutenant stopped citizen Sergey Krbaschyan. This citizen refused to present his passport and to go to the police station," stated the report presented in the case.

The advocate has explained that investigators shall determine the lawfulness of the operational and search activities conducted by the policemen; however, till present, no work in that direction has been conducted.

At present, the investigators verify the complaint about beating of Mardiros Demerchyan, and the decision to institute criminal proceedings will be made till July 19.
