In Dagestan, Zarema Bagautdinova's advocate challenges her arrest

Today, the arrest of Zarema Bagautdinova, a representative of the Dagestani regional public organization "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) was challenged at the Supreme Court of Dagestan by advocate Abdulla Gaziev.

Let us remind you that on July 6, the Makhachkala Soviet Court pronounced the decision to arrest for two months Zarema Bagautdinova, who was detained on July 4 on suspicion of aiding and abetting militants.

Abdulla Gaziev, an advocate from the Advocates' Chamber "Kavkaz", who represents the interests of Zarema Bagautdinova, has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the date for the consideration of the appeal has not been specified yet.

"As it turned out from the case, all the testimonies alleged given against her about her aiding and abetting militants, were given by Makhach Gamzatov, a resident of Buynaksk, who was detained earlier. Meanwhile, the investigating materials do not present the description of the actions of Zarema Bagautdinova that are qualified as 'aiding and abetting'. Moreover, I talked to advocate of Makhach Gamzatov, and he claimed that his client had not given such a testimony. Thus, I want Makhach Gamzatov to be brought to the new consideration of making the decision about the pre-trial restriction measure, since he could explain or refute his testimony at trial against my client," Abdulla Gaziev has said.

Till present, the "Caucasian Knot" has no comments on the case against Zarema Bagautdinova from representatives of the investigating authorities of Dagestan.
