Georgian experts highly appreciate purchasing “Borjomi” by a Russian company

Purchasing IDS Borjomi company by the Russian “Alpha-Group” indicates to a high level of trust to “Borjomi” and shows the prospect of new market entry of the production, experts in Georgia consider.

On January, 27, Russian company “Alpha-Group” purchased the control packet of shares of Georgian manufacturer of mineral water IDS Borjomi. As a result of the transaction “Alpha-Group” will get 55,8% shares, 37,2% will remain property of Georgian businessman Badri Patarkatsishvili’s family and minority shareholders will own 6%.

“The form of purchasing “Borjomi” of itself is an indicator of high trust to the company and its production. I certainly think that after that “Borjomi” will appear in the Russian market”, professor Joseph Archvadze, expert in economic sphere, declared.

Ex-Head of the parliamentary Committee of sectoral economy Demur Giorkhelidze emphasized the importance of the Russian market for Georgia. “Our production improved its quality and added to its attractiveness. He also emphasized that free business might become an actual impulse for a thaw in relations between the states.
