Depardieu reported his plan of shooting a film about reconstruction of Grozny and Kadyrov

Gerard Depardieu is going to shoot a “Big Film” about reconstruction of Grozny. The French actor reported it himself on coming to the capital of Chechnya for a visit.

“I want to shoot the film here and show that it is possible to make a big film in Grozny. I cannot say anything about the details yet but I know that we will come back here, this is only a start. I want to explain how just one person could build a town anew”, official web-site of Head and the Government of Chechnya quotes the actor’s speech at a festive supper arranged by Ramzan Kadyrov in his guest’s honour.

Answering the question about the goal of his visit the French actor said that he “came to see his friend”. Depardieu added that he would also like to see the Chechen dances he already saw “several months ago”.

“I invited Gerard Depardieu to Grozny. We became closely acquainted during his first visit and discussed some projects”, “Interfax” quotes Kadyrov’s speech during the actor’s first visit at the aircraft ladder.

In addition, Kadyrov handed Gerard Depardieu a document on ownership of a flat of five rooms, Head of Chechnya himself reported on his photo-service Instagram today.

Human rights centers associate Ramzan Kadyrov’s activities with gross violations of human rights.
