In Yerevan, public activists commemorate military doctor Vage Avetyan

On June 29, several dozens activists of the social movement "Vage Avetyan" gathered in front of the restaurant "Harsnaqar" in Yerevan, where on June 17, 2012, an incident occurred between the restaurant staff and visitors, resulting in the death of a military doctor Vage Avetyan.

The participants of the action lit candles in memory of the military doctor and expressed their dissatisfaction over the protracted litigation, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The organizers of the action on the social network Facebook released a statement about "the need for a public tribunal of justice, because the protracted for a year inquiry into the death of Vage Avetyan is deliberately failing to reveal the true criminals."

The action of lighting candles in memory of Avetyan was attended by Raffi Ovannisyan, the leader of the "Heritage" Party, who joined the demand of "fair court judgment."

"This can be achieved only by unity, by joint efforts of citizens. This fight should be nationwide; and the trial on the death of Vage Avetyan will be a test for the Armenian people," said Raffi Ovannisyan.
