Engineers promise to restore skyscraper in "Grozny City" by late September
The 145-meter tower of the complex "Grozny City", which was damaged by fire in April, will be restored with the use of new fire-resistant decoration materials by September 30, the city administration reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the fire in the 40-storey building "Olympus" of the high-rise complex "Grozny City" occurred on April 3. Nobody was hurt by the fire.
"The restoration works are performed by over 200 workers at an accelerated pace," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the administration of the Chechen capital.
Officials claim that now exclusively non-combustible materials are used for decoration of the facade and interior premises of the high-rise building.
According to Dziyaut Huseinov, the chief engineer of the Construction Department No. 20 of the local branch of the LLC "Genstroy", a complete restoration of the building will cost about 245 million roubles.
According to a well-informed source of the "Caucasian Knot", in Chechnya, both at reconstruction of many houses and earlier when building the "Olympus" tower cheap facing composite material was used, consisting of aluminium panels and polymer sheets, which are not only fire-hazardous and difficult for fire extinguishing, but also emit toxic gas in burning.
